John Daly incredibly won the Open Championship back in 1995 after a turbulent previous couple of years on the PGA Tour.
Daly has endured well-documented struggles during his time in professional golf, but he has also won some of the biggest championships in the game.
The now 59-year-old won The PGA Championship in 1991 completely out of the blue, before triumphing at The Open four years later.
However, he was involved in a lot of controversy in between those two victories.
Daly is arguably as well known for his antics off the golf course as he is for achievements on it.
However, the four-month suspension he received from the PGA Tour from late 1993 on into 1994 actually came about because of his disruptive behaviour on the golf course.

Daly was prevented from playing in PGA Tour events from November 1993 through to March 1994.
This came about after a spate of instances where he either walked off the golf course during tournaments mid-round or just behaved poorly in general.
Daly had big problems going on in his life off the golf course, including his well-documented and self-confessed problems with alcohol.
And those issues quite clearly affected his ability to play tournament golf.
However, whilst Daly can be accused of a lot of things, lacking resilience is certainly not one of them.
He bounced back from his issues in 1993 and 1994 in sensational fashion at St Andrews in 1995.

Daly was once again not fancied at all heading into The Open at St Andrews 30 years ago.
However, he produced some stunning golf to end the tournament on six-under par for his four rounds.
With Daly having finished his round, his closest competitor – Costantino Rocca – left his drive just short of the Valley of Sin on the final hole, as he trailed the American by one shot.
However, disaster struck for the Italian as he fluffed his chip, leaving him a 60-foot putt for birdie to tie Daly.
Unbelievably, Rocca went on to hole the monster putt and forced a play-off with the ‘Wild Thing’.
Fortunately for Daly, he went on to win the four-hole play-off by four shots, and amazingly lifted the Claret Jug just one year after being suspended by the PGA Tour for poor behaviour.
Quite the turnaround!
